Linking Presenter presentations
12. Nov 2008 at 14:06

Hi,
I am an Adobe Presenter newbie. My project is massive, so I have broken it down into 'bite-sized' chunks. I have been able to turn my PPTs into Adobe Presenter presentations but can't figure out how to keep the links between the different presentations. There are many links on the slides themselves and a great deal of the navigation (choices) are made from the slides themselves. Is what I am trying to do attainable?

I am using PPT 2007, but saving files as backward compatible (2003), along with the demo version of Presenter 7.

Any hints, help, shove in the right direction will be appreciated.
thanks,
Martha

Hi,

If you are trying to link from one 'breezo' (the name of a .ppt file converted to swf using Adobe Presenter - left over from the Macromedia days) I think it may not be easily done.  You would need to know your finished environment very well and have all the separate .swf names & paths defined ahead of time -- if I am reading your question correctly.

Are you using Presenter on an Adobe Connect server or just creating the .swf files to use in some other environment?

No, it will not go to Adobe Connect, but to our online learning system 'ALEX'. Do I know my finished environment very well? NO!! I do, however know where all the links should connect to each other.

Would I be able to make 'TOC' pages in HTML (using Dreamweaver) and then link those pages to the index.html that Presenter makes for each 'bite-sized' chunk? And then link back somehow by putting a page in the Resources file folder for each 'bite-sized' chunk? The finished product will have literally hundreds of slides which is why I want to make smaller chunks or modules.
