Change Adobe Logo Branding
25. Jun 2008 at 11:34

Has anyone tried changing the Adobe logo in the lower-left corner? I followed the instructions in the Help section and when I publish the presentation using the default view the logo is not centered. However, when I hide the tabs the logo is centered. Weird...
Thanks

Renee,

I'm going to be perfectly honest here...I don't have Presenter 7 installed yet.  However, having used custom artwork to replace the default Adobe logo is something I've been doing for over 3 yrs now (up through and including Breeze 5.x to Presenter 6).

That said, would you mind copying/pasting the Help info you read?

Okay, so let's see if we can get something cookin' here...

First of all, what you're seeing/experiencing, is the manner in which the default logo is positioned when running Presenter content.  And although I've read a few other posts about sizing your flash artwork to replace the Adobe logo, what I normally do is work on a stage in Flash with the dimensions set to 50 x 29.  I believe that the "new" default area for logos is something like 49 x 27...so what should happen in our case is that the logo will eventually be scaled down to fit within the Presenter environment.

Regardless...everytime I do this, I make sure that the artwork is slightly off-center to the left side of my flash document.  Publish your swf, add to the Presenter content and let's see what happens.  And I mean that---let me know how it goes, or if you could provide a screen shot, all the better!

Hi Rob,
Thanks for responding!

I set the dimensions to 50 x29, and it was still off... I might try messing around with the dimensions and see what happens.

Here's the Help Text:
By default, published presentations contain a small Adobe logo in the lower-left corner. You can substitute your organization’s logo for enhanced branding. The ideal size for the finished logo.swf file is 47 x 27 pixels.

Note: When creating a custom logo.swf file, avoid creating content outside the stage area in the SWF file.
Create a new file named logo.swf that contains your custom branding.
In PowerPoint, open a presentation (PPT or PPTX file).
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the templates folder where Presenter 7 was installed.
Add your custom logo.swf file to the Templates folder.
In PowerPoint, publish the presentation to your computer.
View the output to see the new logo.

THank you! Renee Smiley

Hey Renee,

Yeah, clearly there's something going on there.  What if you tried making the stage for the logo twice as wide?  I'm just wondering how the logo.swf file is dynamically positioned/scaled by the time you publish  your content.

What I will tell you is that with version 6, you have to go into the vconfig.xml file and change the
<uireplace name="logo" value=" "/> tag and replace the null value.  Is that still true in 7, or is that tag not even available when you publish your content?

See...I still have a lot to learn as well!

In the worst-case scenario, what you could do is create and publish a blankLogo.swf file...just a flash file without any artwork in it at all...then include that in your Template directory...this way, it should totally blank out the default Adobe logo.  And since it wouldn't contain any artwork, there shouldn't be an impact on positioning, etc.

Hey Rob,
No luck with doubling the stage. I may just keep the Adobe logo since it's not that big of a deal. I just thought the presentation would look sharper and since they gave directions, I wanted to give it a try.

I checked out the vconfig.xml file and located the <uireplace name="logo" value=" "/> tag, but I'm not sure what to change.

Thanks for everything!!

Hey Renee,

Okay, so what meant (when I wrote) about changing that tag with the null value is this:

Instead of <uireplace name="logo" value=" "/>, make it something like
<uireplace name="logo" value="myLogo.swf" />

That will also kill of the default Adobe logo.  Or at least that's what I've had to do with versions 5 through 6.

If all else fails, what you could do is create a blank, contentless Flash file at 47 x 27, and call it something like "blankLogo.swf"...and if you use that, then the Adobe logo should be blanked out altogether.  Give that a shot and let's see what happens!

For what it's worth, I'm presenting at a developer's conference next week...I've already made a couple contacts with other Presenter users...I'll start poking around and hopefully I'll get some answers to this...fingers crossed Smiley !
